Day 24, October 21, Madrid/Valencia

I woke up about 9:00 as usual and then just laid around until 10:30 since my bag was pretty much packed. Then we checked out of the hostel, grabbed some food and went to the train station for one of our shortest trips so far! Just 2.5 hours.

We made it to Valencia and were on our way to find the hostel. It was nowhere to be found. Somehow we ended up missing the obvious turn we were supposed to take and walked an extra thirty minutes looking for it. We made it and our room was hotter than a sauna. We were getting hungry so we walked around for a bit and found this paella spot and got a paella and a beer for 8 Euro. Then we found out our hostel was doing a pub crawl at 23:30 so we decided to go on that since the one’s in Madrid were so fun. We took some naps since we didn’t sleep much the night before then went upstairs to meet with the pub crawl group. It was 12 Euro for a shot at four bars and free entry to the club.

We got to the first bar and took a shot of the most non-alcoholic shot I’ve ever had. Right away we knew it wasn’t going to be like the pub crawl in Madrid where we got free tequila shots when we walked in and 1 Euro shots and beers to follow. By the end of the fourth bar Nate and I had ended up spending far too much money only to walk to the meeting point where the cabs were going to pick us up in a torrential down pour. All of our clothes were stuck to our skin and more than half of the group decided not to even go to the club so it was kind of a waste of money to pay for a taxi there and back especially since it was such a boring club. Finally, we got back to the room about 5:00 and stripped out of our wet clothes then went to sleep.
