Day 26, October 23, Valencia

We slept through the walking tour, surprise surprise. After that whole incident happened in our room and no one was even able to wake up to try and help I couldn’t get back to sleep until like 8:30. The woman who got assaulted and her friend invited Nate and I to the beach with them because they heard us talking about wanting to go but we needed to eat so we said we’d meet them there.

We went and bought some stuff to make sandwiches, waters, and beer for the beach. The beach was 3 miles away and Nate and I had to debate between taking a cab or walking. It was an easy debate, both of us like to walk and this gave us a chance to walk and explore a part of the city we hadn’t seen yet. We ended up walking by the stadium the game we were gonna go to was played at. It was only a 15 or so minute walk from the hostel so that would have been awesome to go to. We finally made it to the beach and it was about 85 degrees. One of the hottest days so far this trip and the beach was lovely. Miles of sand and the Mediterranean. The water wasn’t as pretty as it was in Nice but it was a sunny day at the beach, can’t beat it. We spent the whole day there.

Nate and I are big American football fans and haven’t been able to find anywhere to watch a game the whole time we’ve been here. We ended up finding one and walked over to watch the games. It was the most American bar we’ve been to. Burgers, nachos, and American beer. We each had 3 ipas, split some nachos, and watched games until the bar closed. It was the little taste of home we needed before these last two weeks.
